Guidelines for Manuscripts

Manuscripts submitted for review should address an important research problem or question, display a high level of creativity or innovation in research, contribute in a novel way to a body of knowledge, and also (as appropriate) demonstrate state-of-the-art use of appropriate methodology

The African Journal of Political Sciences does not review manuscripts that:

  • Do not contain original arguments or analyses;
  • Are not analytically rigorous, of high quality, and self-contained;
  • Do not have appropriate Institutional Review Board approval for studies involving human subjects;
  • Are unsolicited responses to recently published articles;
  • Are book reviews or essays on current events;
  • Are simultaneously under review elsewhere;
  • Contain material that has already been published elsewhere (without appropriate citation or acknowledgment);
  • Fail to comply with the substantive, stylistic, formatting, and anonymity requirements described above;
  • Have been reviewed previously at the African Journal of Political Sciences
  • Articles are selected for publication in the AJPS on the basis of a double-blind review process. Authors and co-authors of submissions to the AJPS are expected to review manuscripts for the Journal. The AJPS Editor reserves the right to refuse submissions from authors who repeatedly fail to provide reviews for the Journal when invited to do so.

The Editors of the African Journal of Political Sciences seek to provide constructive and informative manuscript reviews that provide authors with useful information regardless of the ultimate editorial decision. We are also committed to providing authors with efficient and timely turnaround when processing submitted manuscripts. But the speed of the process is directly affected by the timeliness of referee responses. Accordingly, it may take several months to complete the review of a manuscript. Note also that all reviews are advisory to the AJPS Editor, who is solely responsible for publication decisions. Editorial decisions are final on all manuscripts. No appeals are accepted, with the exception of specific points of procedural errors in the review process.

Steal and pass (ideas or other words) as his own ideas
Use (other production) without source constraint
Committing a literary journey
Introducing a new or original idea or product derived from an existing source

Academic journals consider plagiarism a serious crime. Academic journals are committed to the elimination of literary manuscripts from the process of review and publication. Revic Revues uses an iThenticate application to detect impersonation to examine each manuscript to see potential impersonations.

Spoofing is the first step in the process of reviewing the manuscript. The manuscripts that have an unacceptable level of similarity with other published works are immediately rejected. Please review the review process below.

Manuscripts must be the original work of the author (authors). Academic journals will follow the COPE guidelines in cases of suspected plagiarism.

Duplicates
Repeated submission is a position in which the author presents the same manuscript or similar manuscripts to two different journals at the same time, both in academic journals and in any other publisher. This includes the submission of manuscripts derived from the same data so that there are no fundamental differences between the manuscripts. The duplicate submission also includes the submission of the same manuscript / manuscript in different languages to different journals.

Manufacturing and forging data
It is immoral to fabricate, manipulate or falsify data in a manuscript. According to the COPE guidelines, Revues Revisions deals with suspected cases of fabrication and falsification.

Manipulation of Quotations
The manuscript should contain only the relevant citations. The inclusion of non-task bids is strongly discouraged. Similarly, self-citation is irrelevant to increasing the quote immoral.
