Manuscript submission

Manuscript for consideration in Investigational Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology [ISSN: 2617-0019 (Print)/ 2617-0027 (Online)] should be submitted through the journal website https://investchempharma.com or in electronic form via e-mails as attachment, to: The Executive Editor e-mail: icmp96701@gmail.com, vk96701@gmail.com

Cover Letter

A covering letter to the editor should be provided by the corresponding authors. Please submit, with the manuscript, the names, addresses and e-mail addresses of 4 potential referees. Note that the editor retains the sole right to decide whether or not the suggested reviewers are used.

Typescripts

Manuscripts should be neatly typed (Times New Roman, 12), in English (or French), double-spaced on A4 format with 2.5 cm on all margins. For manuscript in French, an English version of Abstract is required. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript. The corresponding authors will be informed of the referee's comments.

Manuscript types

• Full paper research paper (maximum: 30 pages, not more than 50 references); Full articles will be drawn from areas described in the Scope
• Reviews (maximum: 50 pages, not more than 200 references)
• Short Communication (maximum: 15 pages, not more than 25 references)
• Case Report (maximum: 10 pages, not more than 25 references)

Copyright

Submission of a paper for publication implies the transfer of the copyright from the author(s) to the publisher upon acceptance. Investigational Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology is the copyright holder after publication of an article

Article Structure

The content of manuscripts must be arranged as follows: (1) a Title Page with authors name(s) and address(es); (2) and Abstract, in which contents are briefly stated; and (3) Keywords; and (4) Background; (5) Methods; and (6) Results and Discussion (combined or separated); and (7) Conclusions; and (8) Acknowledgments; and (9) Competing interests; and (10) Authors’ contributions; and (11) References; and (12) Figures; and (13) Tables.

Authors have to include pagination.

Subdivision – no numbered sections. Divide your article into clearly defined and but not numbered sections. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

Title and authors: Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. The names, written in full (surname last), and affiliations of authors should be given with postal addresses. The contact author(s) be indicated (marked by an asterisk). Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.

Abstract: A concise and factual abstract not exceeding 250 words is required. The abstract should highlight briefly the Aim of the study, Methods, the principal results and major conclusions. References should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself. The abstract should not contain compound numbers which refer to other parts of the manuscript, full chemical or known trivial names of compounds should be given.

Keywords: Authors must give 3-6 keywords or phrases, which identify the most important subjects covered by the paper. Words already in the title should not be included.

Background: State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Methods: Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Statistical methods of treatment should be mentioned if they have been used. If the work done involved the use of human subjects, primates or the release of genetically modified organisms into the environment, it should be stated if clearance from the appropriate authority was obtained. The Editor may request a copy of the clearance document or informed consent form for verification.

Results: The original and important findings should be stated. Results should be illustrated with figures or tables where necessary but these should be kept to the minimum. Reference should be made to display items such as tables and figures where appropriate.

Discussion: This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature. The discussion should highlight what is new in the paper. Any assumption on which conclusions are made must be stated clearly.

Conclusion: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section. This should be given at the end of the Discussion section.

List of abbreviations: A list of abbreviation is requested for all manuscripts; however common abbreviations such as international recognized units should be avoided. All abbreviations in the main manuscript should be defined in their first use.

Competing interests: Authors should declare any competing interests. In case there is none, the following statement should be provided: “The authors declare that they have no competing interests”.

Authors’ contributions: In order to give appropriate credit to each author of a paper, the individual contributions of authors to the manuscript should be specified in this section.

Acknowledgments: Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references. Technical assistance and advice may be acknowledged in this section. However, funding acknowledgments should be stated on the first page of each manuscript, just after the affiliations of authors.

References: Authors are responsible for the accuracy and the completeness of their references. References should be cited numerically e.g. [1], [1,2], [1-3] etc... Only published papers or papers in press can be mentioned in the manuscript. References should be listed the end of the text with numbering. References to journal articles, books, chapters in books, theses, etc. should be listed as given below:

Journals

Illustrations

Tables

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Table should be typed on separate sheets, numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals (e.g. Table 1) in accordance with their appearance in the text and have a short descriptive caption at the top. Avoid the use of vertical lines. Place any table notes below the table body.

Figures

Figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals (e.g. Figure 3). Graphs should preferably be drawn using appropriate computer software and presented on separate pages ready for mounting. These should be constructed in such a manner that they can be understood without reading the text. Appropriate symbols should be used on graphs and explained in the legends. Graphs should not duplicate results presented in tables. Photographs should be produced in black and white. Title and comments of the figures and photographs should be provided under the corresponding figure or photograph using MS Word.

Page charges and offprints

Authors of accepted articles will not be required to pay a publication fee. The corresponding author will receive an Author’s personal PDF copy of their article, and can place order for offprints of the Journal’s volume after the acceptance of the article.

Proofs

Galley proofs for correction of printer's errors only will be sent to the author specified on the typescript. Any other changes may be chargeable to the author. Corrections should be returned to the publisher within the specified time period.

Checklist for Authors
