Authors are insisted to follow the guidelines provided below before submitting manuscript to Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Peer Review
Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology follows double blinded peer review process where authors and reviewers don’t know the identities of each other and are kept highly confidential.
Ethics of Publication
Articles published under Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology follow COPE-Community of Publication Ethics. Authors, reviewers and editors are instructed to follow publication ethics to maintain the journal integrity.
Plagiarism
Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology aims to publish original work which is neither been published or under review in other journals or else copying the content from other published articles and also Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology retards publishing a duplicate article which is already published in other journals.
Absolute Author Contribution
It is important for authors to mention the other entire authors list in the manuscript who has contributed for the respective scientific work.
Author’s Conflicts of Interest
Articles published in Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology must be accompanied by a conflict of interest disclosure. This includes financial and non financial interests, affiliations or any personal, racial and intellectual properties.
Publication Fee
Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is an Universally accessible Journal publisher. We provide research publications over the globe. This journal is a scholarly journal which are available online to the readers without any limitations and charges to download, read etc. Our dedicated and committed Editorial Board Members ensure the quality of research articles to be very high. We also have reputed editorial board members all over from different fields for the quick publication of articles and to ensure the review standards to the international standards. Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is a self reliant publisher which is solely financed by our own management without receiving funds from any institution/government. The authors are required to pay a fair open access publication fee for processing their articles but there are no submission charges. The open access publication fee will be charged to the authors to meet our operation expenses such as Article Processing, website maintenance, employee needs, and development of the company. We charge the authors open access fee only after the articles are accepted for publication.

Research Article
The submitted research article should contain no more than 4500–5000 words. There is no defined limit on the number of pages, images, and tabular columns.
Review Articles
The word count for a review article is 4000–5000 words, with no limitation on the number of pages, tables, and images being used.
Case Reports
The maximum word count for a case report is 1200–1600 words. Having no limit on the number of pages, figures, and references.
Clinical Images
While submitting clinical images, a maximum of 4 images needs to be used along with a word limit of 500 to 600 words.
Short Communications
Should specify the research study in focus and specify the author’s opinion using a maximum of 1200–1300 words.
Special Issue Articles
SA special issue publication is a group 10–15 articles on a specific theme, and a special issue article should contain a maximum of 4000–5000 words, with no limit on the number of references, pages, and images being used.
Editorials
A maximum of 1000–1500 words, with no specification on the number of pages, references, and images used.
Mini Review
Article should not contain more than 3000 words; Abstract word limit should be between 150-250 words with a minimum of 15 references to a maximum of 25 references. It is a concise review of a particular area where the references needs to be cited within past 5 years.
Letter to the Editor
Article should not contain more than 1000 words; and should be with a minimum of 5 references to a maximum of 10 references. In letter to the editor, authors can convey their thoughts and can raise their concerns on recently published articles.
Manuscript preparation Guidelines for authors
Authors are insisted to follow the guidelines provided below before the submission of manuscript
Title Page:
Title
Manuscript title should not exceed more than 140 characters in it
Authors
List the full names of all the authors along with their affiliations
Affiliations
Author affiliation should be mentioned in the order: Department, University/Institute, City, State, Country; to identify different affiliations use superscript numbers.
Corresponding Author
For further corresponding author has to provide their full name, affiliation, telephone number, Fax number and email address.
Abstract
Abstracts are limited to 150-250 words that describe Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusion (for research/original article) of the study. Author need to summarize their findings. Do not include any citations in the abstract.
Keywords
Authors can include maximum of five keywords.
Text
Text should include Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and Acknowledgement (If any). Use numbering for references in the body text.
Results
Results should provide complete details of the experiment that should support the conclusion of the study. Tables and figures can be included in the results section.
Discussion
This section should be separate or can be combined with results (results and discussion) or can be mixed with conclusion (discussion and conclusion) but results and discussions should not be the same or repeated. Detailed interpretation of data should not be included in the results; it should be included in the discussion section.
Acknowledgement
Authors can include funding sources and personal acknowledgement in this section. Authors are encouraged to list all the funding sources used for preparation of manuscript and should provide the grant number and authors associated with specific funding sources.
Acknowledgments
In this section, the author is free to mention the individuals or contributors who have directly or indirectly provided any technical assistance to the original work and would not be considered to meet the criteria for authorship. The authors must seek the consent of the individual or contributors, whom they would like to mention in this section as a matter of courtesy.
Figures
Preferred formats are JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF and power point. This section includes Figures, their title and description. Figure legends should not be repeated in text. If a figure has been published elsewhere, then you need to get the permission from the copyright to reproduce the material at the time of submitting agreement form. Figures should be numbered in order (as per cited in the text part)
Tables
Tables should not be embedded with the text, but it can be cited in the text part. Each table should contain title and description. There is no limit for tables submitted. Tables should provide new information but not the same given in the text. Do not use spaces while making tables. Table should be provided in word document, so that the text in the table can be copy editable as per journal format.
Supplementary Files
We do not limit the number of supplementary material items that author has to include in the manuscript. Supplementary materials should be named as S (Example Figure S1, Table S1, Video S1, etc.). Make sure that these supplementary items should be cited in the text.
Citations
Number of citations per every manuscript published in our journal will be high as the number of visits for our journal website will be around 600 per day. In this way your manuscript will definitely become effective if submitted to our journal.
Review Process
Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology follows Double Blind Peer Review process in which review of the manuscript is done by the external reviewer who is expert in that particular field to ensure the quality of the manuscript and to be sure that we are sharing the exact and genuine information to the readers. For an article to complete the review process it takes nearly 2-3 weeks.

Manuscript Withdrawal Policy
Author may wish to withdraw his/her manuscript after submitting it to Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. To withdraw a manuscript, we do not charge any fee, only if he/she withdraws it within a week. If an author withdraws manuscript after a week, then he/she will be asked to pay partial processing fee. Each manuscript submission costs us (Japanese Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology ) certain amount along with overhead cost during processing. Manuscripts peer review process is completed (which can often happen within a week), and it has been worked into a journal issue, we have incurred costs on our end that need to be reimbursed.

References
Published and accepted articles should be included in the reference list. References should be numbered consecutively in order in which they are first cited in the text part. Author can also cite the references in the tables and figures apart from text part. In in-text references, authors surname and year should be included if publications are cited in the text.
