Anatomy and Pollen Morphology of Eranthis hyemalis (L.) Salisb.

In this study, anatomical and polynological features of Eranthis hyemalis (L.) Salisb. were investigated. For palynological analysis of plant materials, pollen preparations of each taxon were prepared for light microscopy research according to the Wodehouse and Erdtman methods and measurement of the morphological characters of pollen were carried out. For anatomical investigation, transverse sections of root, stem and leaf have been taken from E. hyemalis by scapel. All sections examined by light microscope. In the cross sections of the root, the pith was completely covered by xylem cells. In contrast to this, the pith of the stems is hollow. Leaves have amaryllis type of stomata. They are mesomorphic. The results of the light microscope investigation revealed that the pollen grains of E. hyemalis are tricolpate and exine scabrate. Distribution of Aquatic Ecosystems and Around in Eskisehir
Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biology, Meşelik, Eskisehir There are 44 dams and ponds which are both artificial and naturally occurring within the borders of Eskişehir. In addition, there are 58 rivers in total. In addition to these, Balık Damı Wetland, which is a Natural Site and which has occurred as a result of the floods of Sakarya River, is also located. These aquatic ecosystems are used to as a resting area during migration are as host to many species. It also hosts many endemic species. These endemic species include both invertebrate and vertebrate species. For this reason, hunting is prohibited in the regions where endemic species are located and the researches are subject to permission. These aquatic ecosystems are also used for eco-tourism purposes. This study contributes to Turkey aquatic ecosystems; aquatic ecosystems better recognition of our country will be ensured. Keywords: Eskişehir, Wetland, Balık Damı, Endemic
Flora of Vascular Plants of Peat Quarry and Surroundings in Altıntaş (Kütahya)
According to the research area is located within the grid system used in Turkey's flora B2 square. In the studies carried out in 2018, 283 species and subspecies taxa were identified in the research area and its vicinity. 11 of these species are endemic and endemism rate is 3.9%. The distribution of species to floristic regions is as follows; 11% is European Siberia, 7% is Mediterranean and 11% is Iran-Turan. The remaining group of 71% is group of plants that can be found in more than one phytogeographic region or whose phytogeographic region is not certain. When the region of the study area is evaluated from this point of view, the rate of endemism is lower than the other parts of our country. Floristic data obtained as a result of the studies confirmed this situation. All of the endemic plants identified in the region are classified according to the IUCN categories and all of these plants are in the LR (Ic) category. In other words, the population levels of endemic plant taxa, which are determined to be distributed in the study area, are currently not under threat. Türkiye'den İki Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae) Taksonunun Polen Morfolojisi Üzerine Araştırmalar

Evrimsel ve sistematik ilişkilerin daha verimli olarak ortaya konulabilmesi için bitkilerin biyolojik özelliklerinin, polen morfolojisi çalışmalarıyla desteklenmesi düşüncesi bizi bu çalışmaya yönlendiren etmenlerden biridir. Bu kapsamda, çalışmamızda Türkiye’de doğal yayılış gösteren Euphorbiaceae familyasına ait iki Euphorbia taksonun palinolojik özelliklerinin saptanması amaç edinilmiştir. Polen Morfolojisi çalışmalarında, yapılan arazi çalışmaları esnasında toplanan bazı Euphorbiaceae taksonlarına ait örneklerden (Euphorbia apios L., Euphorbia kotschyana Fenzl) Wodehouse ve Erdtman yöntemlerine göre her bir takson için en az 5’er tane olmak üzere polen preparatları hazırlanmıştır. Araştırma bitkilerinin palinolojik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi için Işık Mikroskobunda inceleme ve ölçüm yapılarak, morfometrik sonuçları ortaya konulmuştur. Polen morfolojisi çalışmalarında, incelenen Euphorbia taksonlarının trikolporat tipte ve sferoid şekilli oldukları, tektat ve rugule bir ornemantasyon gösterdikleri bulunmuştur. Familyanın kendi içindeki taksonlarıyla yapılacak olan karşılaştırma ve yorumlarıyla biyoçeşitliliğe önemli katkılar sağlayacağı inancını taşımaktayız. Sakarya Nehrinin Kolu Olan Seydisuyunda Yayılış Gösteren Gobio sakaryaensis Turan, Ekmekçi, Luskova & Mendel, 2012’nin Bazı Biyolojik Özelliklerinin Araştırılması

Bu çalışma ile G. sakaryaensis’in Seydisuyunda yayılış gösteren popülasyonlarının bazı biyolojik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Mart 2016-Nisan 2017 tarihleri arasında farklı zamanlarda yapılan örneklemelerle elde edilen bireylerin incelemesi yapılmıştır. İdrisyayla, Akin ve Kümbet ve Barajlar sonrası bölgelerinden elde edilen bireylerin Morfometrik-Meristik ve Boy-Ağırlık ilişkisi ortaya konmuştur. Morfometrik ölçümler diskriminant analiz (LDA) ve Temel Öğeler Analizi (PCA) yapılarak değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Balıkların boy-ağırlıkları hesaplanmış % 95 güven limiti aralığında b değeri en düşük 3,35 en yüksek 3,59 ortalama 3,47 olarak tespit edilmiş ve pozitif allometrik büyüme gösterdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Hematological and genotoxic effects of copper (II) chloride on Oncorhynchus mykiss

Oncorhynchus mykiss is amongst the most important species in internal water fish breeding. O. mykiss having very high economical value is largely used in acute toxicity tests. The target of this study is to elucidate the genotoxic effect of CuCl2 upon O. mykiss. The bio assay was carried out in triplicate. The 96h LC50 value was found to be 0.48 mg/L (0.43-0.54 mg/L) from the literature and the sublethal concentration was taken as 0.048 mg/L as the 1/10 of this value. The blood samples taken for the determination hematocrit level were centrifuged at 11500 rpm for 4 minutes. Micronucleus test (MN) was carried out using blood preparations obtained. The mean MN values of the experimental group were found to be higher than those of control group. The hematocrit level of the control and the experimental groups were found to be 29.91 % and 25.01 % respectively. The study reveals that the MN frequencies of O. mykiss species in the experimental group was observed to be higher than those of experimental group while the hematocrit level of the control group was found to be higher than the experiential group. These data clearly show that the CuCl2 has a high level toxic effect upon O. mykiss. Keywords: Acute toxicity, Oncorhynchus mykiss, hematocrit, micronucleus test
DETERMINATION OF THE QUALITY CHARACTERISTICS IN BREAD WHEAT (Triticum aestivum L.) CULTIVARS

The aim of this study is to determine the quality performance of 30 different bread wheat varieties developed for Eskişehir ecological conditions. In the study, thousand grain weight, grain protein ratio and grain hardness, zeleny sedimentation, wet gluten content and gluten index, hectoliter weight, moisture content, the amount of ash determination, falling number, glutenin band pattern, gliadin band pattern properties were investigated. The study was carried out in the laboratories of the Department of Field Crops of the Agricultural Faculty of ESOGÜ. In this study, quality characteristics of 30 bread wheat varieties were examined and their performances were revealed. According to the results obtained in our study, Konya, Altay, Alpu, Kutluk, Bagci and Seyhan bread wheat varieties exhibited a higher quality ratio compared to others with a higher quality performance. In addition, the most stable varieties in terms of parameters were determined as Bağcı, İkizce, Konya, Sultan, Şanlı and Altay varieties. Some of the biological features of Squalius pursakensis (Hankó, 1925) population living in Bayindir Stream

The purpose of this study was to investigate the morphometric and meristic features, length- weight relation and the condition factor of Squalius pursakensis (Hankó, 1925) population living in Bayındır stream, a branch of Sakarya River. The study was carried out upon 46 S. pursakensis samples caught between April-November 2017. The fish were caught by the use of 12 volt DC 5 A Samus brand 725 MP and PWM2 model electro-shocker device and scoops with various mesh sizes. The weight, total length and the variation parameter of their anatomic and meristic properties, and the ratio of the anatomic features to the standard length were calculated. The b value of the weight-length relation which reflects the success in the adaption of the S. pursakensis population to the locality and the correlation coefficient were found to be 2.936 and 0.9052 respectively. The condition factor was calculated to be C=1.0461±0.1042 (0.7939-1.3652). It is recommended that the bioecological features of S. pursakensis population living in Bayındır stream should be constantly monitored due to the fact that the environmental pollution has been observed to reach threatening dimensions.
