Influence of Sodium Meta Vanadate on the Corrosion Resistance of Mild Steel Immersed in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution Prepared in Well Water

The inhibition efficiency (IE) of sodium Meta vanadate -Zn2+system in
controlling corrosion of mild steel immersed in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution
SCPS prepared in well water has been evaluated by weight loss method.The
formulation consisting of 100 ppm of NaVO3 and 50 ppm of Zn2+ provides 94% of IE.
Polarization study confirms the formation of a protective film on the metal surface
.The inhibitor system function as mixed type of inhibitor. AC impedance spectra
revealed that a protective film is formed on the metal surface. The reactions are
diffusion controlled process.
